Eagleprojects develops the Digital Twin technology, the virtual representation of an environment or a physical object. Designing a digital twin means obtaining an exact virtual copy on which to perform checks, test the functionality of the starting physical environment and promote the automation of digital data management. Specific hardware (lidar, georadar, laser scanner), combined with highly specialized code development, complete the process of digital transformation of reality, making the data usable for the procedures that follow. Eagleprojects uses the Digital Twin in various applications such as geomapping: a solution for the acquisition of 2D and 3D geographic information with GIS systems through the use of drones for photogrammetry and old laser scanner vehicles with lidar technology. With the Digital Twin it is possible to plan the city of the future, inserting the sensors necessary for the evolution of the city into the 3D modeling.

THE CASE STUDY
An Italian municipality requested Eagleprojects a Digital Twin of the city to obtain a 3D mapping of all its underground utilities present in the urban area. In 2 months, 150 km of road were mapped by car and 4 km² with drones, returning centralized data on the platform 3EYE.
THE SOLUTION
The entire city was scanned with vehicles equipped with laser scanners and a fleet of drones for photogrammetry. The most complex surveys were carried out with the help of the ground penetrating radar.
Thanks to the app Smart Lidar the inside of all the wells in the area was 3D scanned. The large amount of data collected was uploaded to the platform 3EYE for consultation and conservation.
This allowed the Municipality to obtain a faithful reconstruction of all the utilities (water, public lighting, sewers, gas and fibre) present in the city.
