GISFO®

GIS PLATFORM FOR FIBER OPTIC DESIGN

Gisfo® is among the most widely used fiber optic infrastructure design software in Italy.

Over the years project design has seen the need to integrate more and more advanced features until the process, which starts with GIS data, reaches ever higher and more competitive quality standards.

Gisfo® handles large amounts of data and documentation, making it a complex and customizable software.

GISFO® CAN EFFECTIVELY COVER THE ENTIRE FIBER DESIGN WORKFLOW: FROM INFRASTRUCTURE TO OPTICS TO THE FIBERS THEMSELVES.

Gisfo® interconnects with multiple external systems and allows easy data exchange according to defined technical standards.

It is a tool that provides detailed control of the design of municipalities through the calculation of expected costs, monitoring of site attendance, adherence to time schedules and workflow in the field.

GISFO SERVICES

PLANNING

Through dedicated tools within GISFO® it is possible to plan and manage not only design and construction activities but also all interactive site operations. The time schedule is a centralized workflow status communication tool. Using this tool the manager makes official requests for an extension, suspension and resumption of construction site activities. The Construction Journal, or GDL, is a tool used by GISFO's clients for the creation of daily reports and business intelligence. It represents a discussion table between the field workers and construction management, the latter being able to confirm or refute the daily statements of the contractors.

DESIGN

GISFO® makes it possible to design all network components on a digital map. In the case of FTTH networks, the design of the network can range from the design of visible infrastructure (including excavations, handholes, poles, ducts, etc.), the optics inherent in the infrastructure, to the semi-automatic design of the splices of the optical fiber itself, in order to optimize the quality of the connections brought to the households.

BUDGET

GISFO® allows the dynamic management of technical specifications in a highly configurable manner.  The CMT (Total Metric Computation) tool allows a calculation of the costs of both the design phase and the subsequent construction of the network, based on the technical specifications provided by each client, for complete construction management. The report is exported and made usable according to process requirements and can be easily integrated with third-party software for fast and functional data exchange.

CONSTRUCTION

Construction means the realization of the project. Following the design phase, the company building the installation can visualize and monitor the project. The latter can be updated and modified at any time, remaining available to everyone: the workers, the end client, the construction management and all the people who follow the project in the field. The map (the GIS software) provides extremely in-depth project information: photos, notes, authorization files, construction details, junctions, etc. All formats of these files are exportable and importable. Synchronization of updates ensures build automation with greater control over changes in costs and permits, and simplified site reporting.

INVENTORY

In GISFO® it is possible to use the Inventory tool which was developed for asset management. In the specific case of GISFO®, it is possible to consult all the elements that make up the network, check for faults or anomalies, and proceed with new connections. This system, in which all assets are historically conserved, allows the management of documentation and is automatically synchronized in the event of changes and updates (e.g. new infrastructure route).

ORDER MANAGER

Order Manager is a customization of AWM that manages work orders. The most common types are line activations and deactivations, support management, and reminders or maintenance requests. AThe OLO Gateway, a service specially developed to enable machine-to-machine communication between OLOs and Order Managers according to Open Fiber specifications, has been implemented within Order Manager. All OLOs that follow this specification are able to communicate with our software. The Gateway therefore allows the activation or cancellation of contracts with operators, effectively facilitating communication between the vendor and the end client through correspondence between households covered by the line. The software is integrated with GISFO®, and through the exchange of data it is aware of occupied and free fibers, allowing the association of one or more of these to a single contract according to the type of request.

AWM

Advance Workflow Management, or AWM, is software that enables the management of work orders and the impact of work on the workforce. Its interface is Kanban-like and manages workflow through activity ticketing. Unlike the main workflow management software, AWM can be fully integrated with all of Eagleprojects' business systems or with external systems, customizing it according to requirements.
